Southern Highlands Adventure Activites - Outdoor Spirit

rock climbing and abseiling in the southern highlandsRock Climbing & Abseiling

In a nutshell

A morning of abseiling and an afternoon of rock-climbing with a fine foodie’s lunch in between.

The Hype

Join our expert guides for an introduction to the awesome vertical world of rock climbing and abseiling. Mt Alexandra and Gibraltar are local peaks that offer both beginners and experienced an opportunity to challenge their skills, abilities and fears. Let us ‘take you to the edge’ in a safe and supportive environment for an uplifting experience. Initially, we will teach you the basic techniques on easier ‘nursery’ climbs and abseils, and as your confidence and skill improves, we’ll progress to higher or more challenging rock environments.

Lunch will be a packed picnic affair of mouth-watering delicacies. We can cater to any special dietary requirements as long as you notify us when booking.

What to bring

  • Sturdy footwear - sneakers or boots.
  • A hair tie - for long hair
  • Jumper or Sweater - you may get cold.
  • Rain jacket... yes, we can still abseil in light rain. Hopefully you won’t need it. Murphy’s Law says if you don’t bring one, you’ll wish you did!
  • Sunscreen - it goes without saying.
  • Water bottle - at least 1 litre per person. More if it’s a warm day. There’s nowhere to fill it up along the journey.
